CSIR NET – Syllabus and preparation tricks

Only a month left for CSIR NET Exam, and only a smart work could help you to crack the exam. The exam will be held on 15 December 2019. The Admit cards are also released.

For these 30 days, good guidance and the right path is needed to be followed. So, gather all your energy and keep your laziness aside. Only then you can achieve success and fulfill your dreams.

WHAT IS THE SYLLABUS?

CSIR NET is conducted for ‘five’ subjects: Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences.

Aspirants must know the syllabus of CSIR NET before anything. It is essential to form the study strategies. Therefore, here we are providing you the PDFs of respective subjects:

There are 3 sections, namely SECTION A, SECTION B & SECTION C. Section A is a reasoning section which is same for all the subjects. For this, only practice via solving questions online would be great.

Taking the tests will help you understand your strengths and weaknesses. Working on these weaknesses will, in turn, help you to score higher.


GATHER SUITABLE STUDY MATERIAL

Aspirants should collect all the notes studied during their graduation. The NET syllabus covers all the topics from graduation as well as from post-graduation. Analyze your strong and weak points because it will help in forming a plan for preparation. Gather Information and study material from wherever you get. Solve as many previous year question papers as possible. There are some books available for each subject consisting of past year papers and mock test papers. Avoid Cramming, understand concepts and always try to find out ‘why?’. It is very difficult to cover all the syllabus in a month. So it is always recommended to know the important and high weitage topics. Concentrate on those topics more.

4 WEEK PLAN:

1ST WEEK – Work on Study material as given above. Choose the best-suited study material which is easy to understand. Focus on Important and your strong points. Study for at least 6 hours a day. Revision should be done at the end of the day. Assemble all your energy and give your best.

2ND WEEK – Make a plan according to the Syllabus and know the EXAM PATTERN.

3RD WEEK – The most effective way to polish your skills and improve your performance is to solve past year question papers. Manage your time effectively in a way to solve at least 2 question papers per day and improve your score.

Read Questions carefully and analyze the right technique to solve it (graphs or shortcuts) and calculate the time. Only answer if you are completely sure about it.

Tip: Since in Part A and Part B there is a negative marking of 0.5 and 0.75 marks respectively. For Part C there is no negative marking. So, don’t attempt those questions for which you are not confident.

4TH WEEK – Many students experience some nervousness or apprehension before, during, or even after an exam. It is perfectly natural to feel some anxiety when preparing for and taking a test. But by this, all efforts can vanish.

Revise your notes, focus on your strong points. Be relax and calm as much as you could be.
